Facebook removed an insulting photo showing Anne Frank in bed with Adolf Hitler on Tuesday, after claiming just hours before that they would not remove the photo as it did not “violate our Community standards.”

On Monday, a Facebook user contacted TLVFaces about the incident, who first reported on it, calling for users to reach out to Facebook, and request that the photo be removed. TLVFaces received an influx of emails from readers who were upset by the incident, and asking how they could help to get it removed.

“Doesn’t Violate Community Standards”

As a result of efforts from the Facebook community, reporting the photo, almost 24 hours after it was first found, Facebook finally removed the photo, along with the user’s profile who was hosting the photo.

I am aghast at the idea that something so sick could be initially thought of as “okay” on Facebook. Who is the asshat who thought it did not violate the terms of service? Fire that moron.
